Etel Ioshpa

Graduated from the Moscow International Cinema School in 2002 and then, in 2008, from the Set Design Department (Dmitry Krymov’s workshop) of the Russian Academy of Theatrical Art (RATI-GITIS).

When a member of the Dmitry Krymov Lab, she participated in the following productions of the School of Dramatic Arts (Shkola Dramaticheskogo Iskusstva): Elusive Tales (2004), Sir Vantes. Donkiy Hot (2005) and The Demon. Top View (2006).

In 2007, she was a member of the team that designed the Russia pavilion at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space and received for it the Golden Triga award.

In 2005, her sets for Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (directed by Elena Artyukhina) won 2nd prize in the Finals of the Ring Award International Competition for Stage Direction and Design in Graz, Austria.

Art-Director of the following productions:
The Cow after the Andrey Platonov short story at the School of Dramatic Arts (Designers Maria Tregubova, Vera Martynova, and Ethel Ioshpa; directed by Dmitry Krymov, 2007);
“2×2=5” by Ksenia Stepanycheva, a production of the Modern Drama School, directed by Olga Gusiletova and Albert Filozov, 2007;
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare at the Moscow Drama Theatre led by Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, directed by Vadim Medvedev, 2011;
Die Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre, directed by Alexander Titel, 2011;
She directed and designed a performance for children called Eaten Time at the Funny Bell House theatre in 2013.

Exhibitions and Live Art Performances:
Live art performance of the Only Brothers art group at the Tretyakov Gallery in 2007 and at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in 2009 as part of the Museum Night project;
Exhibit display If I only knew… at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (as a member of the Only Brothers art group) in 2010–2011. 

Since 2014, she has been working at the Novaya Opera Theatre.
