People’s Artist of Russia, member of the Nika Cinema Arts and Studies Academy, a member of the Russian Oscar Committee.
She graduated from the Production Design Department of the Moscow Art Theatre School, and in 1964 she became a costume designer at the Maxim Gorky Central Film Studio of Children and Youth.
During her 35 years of work for the cinema she participated in producing more than thirty films in collaboration with many famous directors, including Mark Donskoy, Sergey Gerasimov and Lev Kulidzhanov. Her costumes for Peter the Great received an Emmy Award of the US Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the California Designers’s main prize. She designed costumes for the following opera productions: Verdi’s La Traviata (the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia),Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Golovin’s The First Love (the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow).
Since 1982, she has taught at the Moscow Art Theatre School; since 2005 she has been the head of the Costume Design Department.
