Graduated from the Popov Academy of Choral Art with degrees in choral conducting (2011) and solo singing (2016). She attended master classes of Darren Zimmer, Michael Paul, Sara Allegretta, and Raminta Lampsatis.
The singer has performed in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the State Kremlin Palace, Megaro Mousikis Athinon (Greece),the Osaka Symphony Hall (Japan),the Minato Mirai Hall (Japan),the Hungarian State Opera House in Budapest, Auditorio de Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain),Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux and at other venues.
She took part in the Colmar International Festival directed by Vladimir Spivakov (France),the festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” (Russia),Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany),the Moscow Easter Festival, the Transfiguration Festival of Arts (Yaroslavl),the Kruzheva International Music Festival (Vologda),the Dinara Aliyeva International Music Festival OperaArt, the Sofia Gubaidulina International Modern Music Festival Concordia (Kazan),Vasily Ladyuk’s International Festival Опера Live, Festival de Musica de Canarias and others.
Polina has worked with many prominent conductors such as Fedoseev, Spivakov, Pletnyov, Sanderling, Jurowsky, Sladkovsky, Rinkevicius, to name just a few.
The singer’s repertoire comprises over 20 opera parts, including Fenena (Verdi’s Nabucco),Maddalena (Verdi’s Rigoletto),Carmen (Bizet’s Carmen),the Composer (Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos),Olga (Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin),Lyubasha (Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride),and Marina Mniszech (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov). Also, the singer performs mezzo-soprano parts in more than 40 cantata-oratorio pieces.
She took part in the CD recording of Stravinsky’s The Wedding (as Mother; conductor Gennady Dmitryak),Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (as Nanny; conductor Vladimir Spivakov),and Mozart’s Requiem (mezzo-soprano part, conductor Oleg Romanenko).
Since 2016, Polina Shamaeva has been a soloist at the Novaya Opera Theatre.
In 2017, she became a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera House.
