Anton Getman graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK).
In 2002 – 2016, he served as Deputy General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, took part in the formulating of a new concept of the Russian national musical theatre as a creative music life center of the country and a key Russian partner for prestigious world opera houses and world-famous artists, in developing a new business model for the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and restructuring and optimizing its management structure. He produced more than 150 opera and ballet performances.
He worked with international and Russian artistic and production teams including such directors as Yuri Lyubimov, Valery Fokin, Alexander Sokurov, Kirill Serebrennikov, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Vasily Barkhatov, Dmitri Tcherniakov, Declan Donnellan, David Pountney, Peter Konwitschny, Francesca Zambello; choreographers as Yuri Grigorovich, Alexei Ratmansky, Yury Possokhov, Radu Poklitaru, Tatiana Baganova, Wayne McGregor, Christopher Wheeldon, Mats Ek, Jiří Kylián, Angelin Preljocaj, Jorma Elo; conductors as Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Alexander Lazarev, Vladimir Jurowski, Mikhail Jurowski, Yuri Temirkanov, Mikhail Pletnev, Teodor Currentzis, Alan Buribayev and Christopher Moulds.
In 2016 – 2020, he was General Director of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre.
Since 2020, he has been Director of the Novaya Opera Theatre.
