Margarita Nekrasova


Margarita Nekrasova graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Associate Prof. Shumilova's class). The singer has a voice of exceptional compass, and her repertoire includes compositions by Handel, Gluck, Bach, Verdi, Donizetti, Wagner, Strauss as well as pieces by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Mussorgsky. Since 1994, she has been a soloist of the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.

The singer took part in two CD recordings with the theatre – “The Novaya Opera in Carnegie Hall” and “Romances by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov”.

Margarita Nekrasova often performs at prestigious opera houses and concert halls in Europe, including Teatro Comunale in Florence, La Scala in Milan, Staatsoper Berlin, Komische Oper in Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Opéra National de Lyon, Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Opernhaus Zürich and others.

She has participated in well-known musical festivals in Russia and in Europe. She regularly takes part in well-known opera festivals such as the BBC Proms summer season in London, Salzburg Festival (Austria),Edinburgh Art Festival (Scotland),Festival d’Aix-en-Provence (France).

She has worked with many prominent directors including Yuri Lyubimov, Barrie Kosky, Dmitry Chernyakov, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Achim Freyer, Liliana Cavani, Yuri Grymov, Yuri Aleksandrov, Guy Cassier, Hans Neuenfels, and Peter Stein. The singer has performed with the world’s best conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Kirill Petrenko, Vladimir Jurowsky, Evgeny Kolobov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Kazushi Ono, Kent Nagano, Mariss Jansons, Mickhael Guttler, Semen Bychkov to name but a few.
