He studied journalism at the Leningrad University and philology at the Jerusalem University. In 1990 in Israel he became editor of the “Inhabited Island” magazine and of the “EYE” online magazine, one of the first professional literary editions in the Russian Internet (at the moment the publication is suspended). In 1991, he had the first book of his poems published. In 1995 in Moscow he founded the “Cityline” Internet providing company and the “Internet” magazine and became a shareholder of the TV–6 channel. Between 2006 and 2012 he was general director of the Kommersant publishing house. In 2014 he founded “Clear. Communications” agency. He has published several books of poems. In 2008 he published his first novel, Twins.
